Mission Impossible! Intro

Hi guys!

🎶 This week we are learning a new song - The Mission Impossible theme tune!

👍 This is a super fun song but it is actually quite difficult to play. The reason for this is because of the time signature. 🤔

🎵 Usually, when we play a song, it is in 4/4, meaning there are 4 beats per bar.

❗ In Mission Impossible, there are 5 beats per bar, meaning that it is in 5/4!

🎹 This means there is an extra beat in each bar, which is very tricky to count!

👏 It's easier to break it up into a group of 3 and 2, so when you count the beats, say '1,2,3 1,2' and then repeat!

🎼 Another thing we need to watch out for are accidentals! We have some flats in our key signature, (Eb and Bb) and we also have some sharps added in there! (F#)

Remember, a flat goes below the note (the black key to the left) and a sharp goes above the note! (Black key to the right)

📺 Watch the video to help you, and use the fun sheet to practise for next time.

😆 There will be a tutorial out next week for you guys to practise the right hand!

Happy practising!

Lucy and the FunKeys team.
